A Letter From The President
Changes are happening in Clayton. . . .
The level of quality artwork on display at The Clayton Center continues to amaze me. The big difference is that lately more and more sales are being made from these exhibits as Clayton citizens realize the wealth of talent right here in our little corner of the world.
As you drive down Main Street, you can’t help but notice old buildings undergoing renovation and new businesses popping up. Pretty soon, all that will be missing is that CVA Art Gallery, a dream that has been around as long as the organization itself. With Clayton’s momentum growing, I feel a growing urgency for CVA make sure it catches this wave.
Be on the lookout for a survey to gauge interest in being part of a cooperative art gallery in Clayton. In addition to our 2D artists, we have a growing number of 3D artists (sculpture and wearable art) who would benefit from a place to display and sell their artwork.
Other cooperative galleries run by non-profit organizations such as ours require a leg up at the beginning until they become self-sustaining. CVA will be much more likely to be offered such assistance if we iron out a firm business plan now. We will also be prepared to decide which options would be a best fit for this dream to become a reality.
Get ready to dream big!
