A Letter From The President
Greetings Fellow Artists and Art Lovers!!
It’s September and it’s Art Faire time!!
This year’s Art Faire is a juried event that had over 145 pieces of amazing artwork submitted for consideration. The selected final 59 pieces will be judged and on display until October 3rd. All pieces are available for purchase. Please stop by The Clayton Center to see these amazing pieces of artwork.
On behalf of CVA, I would like to thank the Art Faire Committee, lead by Sandra O’Berry, for their tireless work organizing and displaying the show. I would also like to extend a special “Thank You” to Joe DiGiulio (www.digiuliostudios.com) who will serve as this year’s judge.
As we move on into the cooler months, stayed tuned for information about our next upcoming signature event; “Christmas in Clayton”.
As always, if you are not already a member of Clayton Visual Arts I encourage you to join and help us with our mission! – “Bringing Art to Clayton”
– Princess Hester
The deadline to enter the North Carolina State Fair’s Art & Photography competition is September 15th.
Don’t miss your chance to display your artwork at the 2017 NC State Fair. For $5 you may enter one piece of artwork in the Amateur division, or 2 pieces in the Professional division. (Professional entries, however, are juried–meaning that a judge determines whether any of them are displayed.) Here’s the link for rules and registration.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 2nd!
CVA will be hosting its 6th annual Christmas in Clayton Art & Home Tour at Glen Laurel subdivision. Plan to enjoy beautifully decorated homes and fine art gifts made my local artists. Proceeds from ticket sales go to public school art programs.

State of the Art/ Art of the State Exhibit. Organized by the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, this exhibition focuses on contemporary art by artists currently living in, or native to, the state of North Carolina. Artists bring a single work of art to be installed in the museum, delivering the work within a 24-hour period. The design of this project provides any participating artist equal opportunity to meet a significant curator working in the field of contemporary art today and have their work seen by all visiting curators.
