“I paint both landscapes and still lifes in an attempt to document our beautiful, fragile planet and our rare quiet moments. A primary goal of my landscape painting is to bring to the viewer’s awareness the magnificent surroundings we all share and must protect. I continue to work passionately to preserve our remaining natural areas and the wonderful creatures that live there. Currently I am working on several series, one of which features landscapes of North Carolina. These works include marshes, lakes, streams, vineyards, old barns, and anything else that really captures my attention. I do both en plein air paintings of the landscapes and larger studio paintings in which I work to recapitulate the sensory qualities I experience when painting on site.”
