“I enjoy using bright colors in my work, and enjoy painting a variety of subject matter. Depending on my mood, I can go from painting flowers and animals, to abstract figures.”
Susan Peters is originally from Woodstock, New York and has always been creating something. From the early years of finger-painting on rocks in the creek bed behind her grandmother’s house to present. After a long hiatus from painting, she has returned. After completing her first acrylic painting in years she was immediately hooked. Peters started looking at everything around her in detail, noticing colors, shapes, light, and shadows.
Susan Peters considers herself to be an emerging artist, as she is just starting to display her work. To date, she has displayed her art throughout the Cary and Raleigh area with shows for First Friday at Alter Ego, Bottega, United Arts Council of Raleigh, Visual Art Exchange, and Litmus Gallery. She has displayed her work in several group shows around the Cary Area. She also displays artwork with Local Color Gallery located inside 311 Gallery in Raleigh. Peters is a member of the Fine Arts League of Cary, Visual Art Exchange, and the Durham Artists Guild. She has work in private collections in North Carolina, Tennessee, New York, Massachusetts, Alabama, and California.
Peters also enjoys practicing hot yoga, riding my Tennessee Walking Horse, and traveling with her family.
“I enjoy creating, no matter what I am doing. I have always had an urge to ‘make’ things since I can remember. I find myself truly happy when I am creating something pleasing to the eye. I look at every painting as a way to improve and grow. I learn something from each and every painting that I complete.”
